We forgot some important events-Pride-'06

While this was a summer ago; we felt we would be remiss in omitting this hallowed event from the blog. Ours was an exciting journey beginning in the winter with the idea of a float called "Friends of Sapho" and culminating in our float winning the Judge's Prize at the Albuquerque Pride Parade in June of '06.

Players: Sappho: Darla

Pan: Spyke
Slaveboy: Reece
Madusea: Amalia
Dionysus: Chris
Artemis: Toni
Float nymphs and yours truely Jenny and Sunita as float managers and misc. Greeks.

Lest we forget the bling: Flo's belly dance troupe

1907 House Party 7-7-07; ABQ

This summer a centential celebration of the casa de Isengard. Sightings of Katherine Hepburn, Zigfield and his follies and an authentic rail-hopping hobo were among the many party-goers. Its not everyday your house turns 100!

Notzozobra- Albuquerque, NM

There was a sighting of old man gloom; AKA: George W. at the last unpaved street in Albuquerque last night. He didn't last long. We burned the shit out of him and his Miller sixer. Chris has been hosting the anti-Santa Fe "notzozobra" gathering for over 10 years. The person who travels the farthest distance to be there gets the honor of starting the fire. This year it was Christine from the Ukraine. I tried speaking with her but all could get out of her was that she doesn't like chile and has a strange prediliction for fire.
Our worries such as the war, cell phones, smoking bans, ex-partners, bills and arrests went up in flames in a glorious display of catharsis. Enjoy!

Rafting in Pilar, NM

Over the Labor Day weekend some of us went to Sunita and Reeces' house in Pilar, NM. Reece is a raft guide on the Rio Grande and so we all did some rafting. Sunita took the Race Course like a champ in a funyak(?) with Tara. The rest of us ended up in the drink; flipping the boat at Big Rock. Great fun was had by all. You can tell Barry was feeling the love when he decided to freak us all out with Arianna's pants and a little dance. Until next time: Lonesome Dove, Silver Eagle, Eager Beaver, Pau Pau, Flying Dutchboy, Lumberjen, and BMR also Sunita who for some reason I can't recall your code name. I must still be suffering from the effects of such a fine fine weekend.
